Nkhosana and the Dinosaurs: A Common Core ILLUSTRATED Fantasy Textbook - Use The Wonder Of Dinosaurs and African History To Teach Critical Thinking, Reading, and STEM to Kids K-1!

- Description

“What is respect?” the boy asked his father.
One day, new people came. They did not talk Khossa like the boy. They did not click their tongues like the boy.
They talked Bantu.
Based on the true story of the Bantu migration with a fun dino-fantasy element thrown in, Nkhosana and The Dinosaurs introduces kids to the skill of separating fact from fiction–while exploring respect, African History, and junior paleontology.
Nkhosana and the Dinosaurs begins with a little picture book about a kid in ancient Khossa Africa whose father walks with dinosaurs–and then, through a series of activities and lectures, kids learn to identify what about this fictional story could be true, and what would have to be false.
(Print book also available!)

This story is meant to be fun to read aloud to kids, but also includes a full Common-Core, NGSS-standards-ready textbook with math, science, reading, fact-checking “fossil digs”, and peer-interaction activities.
We’ve cited dozens of scientific papers so teachers can explain to kids how citations, fact-checking, and respectful debate work–and then we’ve created Common-Core-friendly activities so kids can practice these skills themselves! Exercises like:
- A math “dig” where kids fact-check the teacher’s claims by measuring “fossils”
- A group activity where each kid has a different piece of the truth, and must find the other pieces from other kids
- Reading comprehension quizzes with a “look for the truth” twist
- A “dinosaur essays” activity for kids to analyze real scientist debates
- Respect and Open-Mindedness stories from Bantu and Khoi-san history
- Bantu/Khoi-san Cultural Projects (early writing and creative skills!)
- And more!
It’s perfect for homeschoolers and public classrooms alike, with additional readings for teachers who want to dig deeper. We respect the adult in the room while entertaining the kids.

And it’s not just well-made, it’s well-meaning: half of all profit received supports Becoming Hero Charities’ missions to bring literacy to Liberia, medications to indigenous Paraguay, and funds to other important hero projects that fight human trafficking and child SA.
This is better quality and more impactful than many educational books I’ve had the misfortune of buying for as much as $25 in digital.
Five bucks will get you the brain-training e-book--and since you're ordering directly through Becoming Hero Charities, you can add on the audiobook for another three.
(It's a lot more expensive, or straight up unavailable, elsewhere, and you can ONLY get it this way through THIS link, right now)
The audiobook really should be $10 on its own--the picture book section is fully-produced with music and drama, and the rest of the textbook is meticulously set-up so that teachers and parents with visual impairments can get the same benefits out of the activities as anyone else. Instead of standard chapters, I've incorporated pauses and broken audio files into relevant exercises so you can actually play the audio sections as tests and use them for dictation practice, too. I narrated the audiobook myself--I played with the idea of using AI to clone my voice, and decided the quality just wasn't going to be what you deserved. This is all human, all the way, and usually I get paid more than $3 for audiobook royalties since I actually narrate for work.
But because you're working directly with me, instead of through Amazon, you can have all the audio files for $3.
So how will you choose to bring Bantu art, history, and critical thinking to your child's mind?
Ebook?
Ebook and audio (only available at this price right here, right now)?
Or...
DO YOU WANT THE PRINT BOOK?

^_^
Whichever you choose, you can actually earn all your money back after purchase by getting other people to get the book. Details will be in your order email!
And as always, this is a fundraising drive for BECOMING HERO CHARITIES (as is anything and everything on the tinglestea.byjenfinelli.com domain). You can learn more about how BHC brings meds to indigenous people in need and funds an orphanage in Liberia at becominghero.byjenfinelli.com.
Thank you for not just protecting your kids, but others, too.
Alright, that's enough out of me for now.
